The Rhyme Sheet, Second Series No. 6: Song (Poetry Bookshop broadside)
[London]: The Poetry Bookshop, [1919]. Single-sided broadside, measuring 14 x 7.25 inches. Two illustrations printed in black and orange.
Original broadside issued by Harold Monro’s Poetry Bookshop as part of his second series of rhyme sheets, illustrated by Claud Lovat Fraser. The featured poem is a world-weary lyric by Elizabethan poet Thomas Campion: “Never love unless you can / Bear with all the faults of man.” Woolmer notes that the model for the woman at the head of the broadside was the actress Grace Crawford, the artist's wife. Woolmer B2:6. A fine example.
