First edition of this collection of Proust's miscellaneous writings, published the same year as the final volume of A la Recherche du Temps Perdu, number 956 of 1200 copies “réservés aux amis de l'édition originale" out of an edition of 1374. These short pieces, originally published between 1892 and 1921, are grouped into four sections: “Les Salons et la Vie de Paris," “Paysages et Réflexions," “Notes et Souvenirs," and “Critique Littéraire," which includes essays on Flaubert and Baudelaire: “Ces sentiments que nous venons de dire, sentiment de la souffrance, de la mort d'une humble fraternité, font que Baudelaire est, pour le peuple et pour l'audelá, le poète qui en a le mieux parlé, si Victor Hugo est seulement le poète qui en a le plus parlé."
