Signed limited first edition of this 2010 collaboration between painter Luke Martineau and poet Kate Bingham, an out of series copy issued with an original linocut. Martineau’s images, inspired by the woodcuts of William Nicholson, depict everyday moments in the life of an active little girl, while Bingham’s alphabetical verses celebrate her independence and creativity: “Every girl is up for Adventure / Every girl Best be prepared / Every girl is a Curious Creature / Keeping her Distance, every girl Dares.” The accompanying black-and-white linocut by Martineau depicts a young girl writing. The signed limited first edition of 56 copies, signed by both Martineau and Bingham, was issued simultaneously with a paperback trade issue in 2010. The book was later reissued in a 2017 limited edition by Kate Holland, and in a 2018 trade edition by Graffeg. A fine copy.
