Book club edition of this popular midcentury cookbook, featuring recipes for a wide range of homemade candies, from marzipan to pralines to maple taffy: “There is no holiday that is not enhanced by candy and if it isn't a holiday, candy will make it one.” In addition to a wide variety of Christmas treats, Pasley offers suggestions for Valentine’s Day, Easter, the Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and even George Washington’s birthday (barley-sugar twists, popular in the Revolutionary era). A bright, near-fine example of a confectionary classic, much nicer than usually found.
